Lucknow, May 5 (Inditop.com) The busy Lucknow-Gorakhpur rail route in Uttar Pradesh was disrupted when three coaches of a train derailed early Wednesday. No one was injured, an official said.
The superfast Bihar Sampark Kranti Express derailed around 1 a.m. near the Safedabad railway station in Barabanki, some 35 km from here. The train was headed to Bihar from New Delhi.
The exact cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained.
“On completion of the enquiry by senior railway officials, we would be in a position to establish the cause of the accident,” Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector B.P. Singh told reporters.
“Three coaches – S11, S12 and S13 – derailed and damaged the tracks. No one was injured in the accident,” he said.
A team of railway has arrived on the accident site to restore the rail route, Singh added.
