Navi Mumbai, May 9 (Inditop.com) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray Sunday slammed Shiv Sena’s recent blood donation camp in Mumbai as a “blood-sucking exercise” which would not help solve any major problems of the people.
Speaking at a felicitation function here, Thackeray took a pot shot at the record blood donation camp organised by his estranged cousin Uddhav Thackeray April 25.
“The drive was a blood-sucking exercise that will not help solve any major problems of the people,” Raj Thackeray said.
He said that at a time when Mumbai was reeling under a major water crisis, some people found it fit to organise a blood donation camp in the city.
“Organising a mammoth blood donation drive is not going to help resolve any problems of Mumbai or Maharashtra,” he said.
The Shiv Sena organised the camp as part of the celebrations of Maharashtra Day golden jubilee May 1. More than 26,000 bottles of blood, which would be distributed to public hospitals and blood banks, were collected.
Raj Thackeray also took the opportunity to train his guns at the Maharashtra government for ignoring the water crisis confronting Mumbai this year.
“The city is facing its worst water crisis and the water mafia is selling water at exorbitant prices. Why are steps not being taken against the water mafia?” he questioned.
