New Delhi, May 11 (Inditop.com) A city court Tuesday sent a 35-year-old man to seven days in police custody after he was arrested on charges of possessing communication equipment meant for Kashmiri terrorists.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja asked the police to present accused Sheikh Sajjad before the court May 17.
Sajjad was extradited Saturday from Dubai. He was detained there for possessing as well as allegedly sending hi-tech communication equipment, including satellite phones, to militants in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sajjad was suspected to be connected to the terror outfit Al Badr.
Police claimed that the Customs Preventive Unit seized a consignment of satellite phones and high-frequency wireless sets from Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah June 8, 2005. Sajjad was allegedly involved in it.
