Puducherry, April 28 (Inditop) A Puducherry court Tuesday adjourned til June 11 the hearing of the 2004 Sankararaman murder case involving the Kanchi Shankaracharya.
Only 13 of the 24 accused, including senior seers Jayendra Saraswati and Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati, were not present in the sessions court, which led to judge D. Krishna Raja adjourning the hearing till June 11.
Sankararaman, the manager of a temple in Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, was murdered Sep 3, 2004. His widow Padma, son Anand Sharma and daughter Uma Maitreyi were scheduled to be cross-examined Tuesday.
During the earlier hearings this month, two witnesses had turned hostile.
The matter was transferred to this union territory located 200 km south of Tamil Nadu capital Chennai after Supreme Court orders.
