Mumbai, May 13 (Inditop.com) Ajit Gulabchand-promoted Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has hived off its information technology division into a separate arm, Highbar Technologies, to tap the Rs.2,000 crore business in the infrastructure sector.
“As a business, our aim is to be a key player in the domestic untapped market for IT-enabled solutions for the infrastructure industry which currently stands at approximately Rs.2,000 crore,” Gulabchand said in a regulatory filing Thursday.
The IT company will provide services to various players in the infrastructure sector.
“The distinct advantage that the company possesses is its inherent understanding of the needs of the infrastructure industry as well as IT… We would like Highbar Technologies to be the partner of choice for all infrastructure companies looking to enhance their operations and output through the use of technology,” he said.
Besides domestic markets, the company will also target business opportunities overseas, including the Gulf region and the Europe.
