Seoul, May 17 (Inditop.com/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and South Korea have agreed to form a joint committee to explore cooperation in small and medium ventures, technology and healthcare.

UAE Economy Minister Sultan Al Mansouri recently held a series of meetings here with South Korean officials, including Economy Minister Tchoy Kwingwan, on enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

The UAE minister also met Kim Dong Sun, administrator of South Korea’s Small and Medium Businesses Administration. Kim Dong told Al Mansouri that small and medium enterprises, which make up 99 percent of the companies in South Korea, depend on advanced technologies and innovation.

Al Mansouri highlighted the efforts of the UAE government to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through the economy ministry. He said the ministry is working on a plan to provide an ideal environment for the SMEs to enable the sector to attract foreign investments.

He also had discussion with South Korean Health and Welfare Minister Jeon Jai Hi May 12. South Korea has advanced technology for cancer treatment and cosmetic surgeries.

Al Mansouri said the UAE is willing to send its health personnel to South Korea for training in advanced medical care.
