Mumbai, May 26 (IANS) State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) Wednesday reported a 41.7 percent rise in net profit at Rs.1,909.58 crore in the fourth quarter of 2009-10 against Rs.1,347.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Total income during the quarter grew to Rs.14,152.63 crore, against Rs.11,047.24 crore in January-March 2009.

Net profit for the year ended March 31 rose 37.3 percent to Rs.4,310.64 crore, compared to Rs.3,138.21 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company’s total income increased to Rs.34,396.67 crore for 2009-10, against Rs.27,646.61 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company’s board has recommended a dividend of Rs.12.30 per share.

At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the BHEL scrip was ruling at Rs.2,237.90, down 1.1 percent from its previous close at Rs.2,262.95.
