New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) Indian activists Tuesday condemned the Israeli raid on a Gaza aid flotilla in which 16 peace activists were killed and many injured and have planned a protest march in the capital Wednesday.
Members of the Committee for Solidarity with Palestine in Delhi will hold a protest march from India Gate to the Israeli embassy at noon Wednesday.
Social activist and member of the Committee for Solidarity with Palestine Prabir Purakayastha told IANS: ‘This is a criminal act and an act of terror.’
‘Israel cannot flout international law with impunity unless it is aided and abetted by the US. It is American support that they continue to violate international law.’
‘We are expecting hundreds of people to participate in the march and support the cause,’ he said.
The Free Gaza Flotilla of 6 ships with 700 international activists on board and carrying 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid was attacked May 30 by Israel, killing at least 16 people and injuring dozens.
