New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Vidhu Vinod Chopra, known for producing films like ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S’ and ‘3 Idiots’, will be honoured by the Indian Film Festival of London (IFFL) June 25-29 for his contribution to cinema.
A retrospective of his films will also be organised at the festival, which will come to a closure with a charity screening of ‘3 Idiots’ and proceeds of which will go to the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef).
”3 Idiots’ is a special film. It’s a film that has changed my own daughter’s outlook towards education and she has taken up classical dancing full time. To have a charity screening for Unicef only echoes what the film is trying to say and we are really proud to be associated with such a noble cause,’ Chopra said in a press statement.
His films like ‘An Encounter With Faces’ (1978), ‘Parinda’ (1989), ‘1942: A Love Story’ (1993), ‘Eklavya: The Royal Guard’ (2007) will be screened at the festival.
The retrospective will be followed by a question and answer session.
The festival will be held at London’s Riverside Studios.
