Chennai, June 8 (IANS) The city-based Consolidated Construction Company Ltd is negotiating with a Malaysian firm to enter into power sector construction in a major way, a top company official said Tuesday.
‘We are planning to get into the balance of plant (BOP – all power sector equipments other than boiler, turbine generator) segment tying up with with a Malaysian company. Negotiations are on but we are not in a position to reveal the company’s name,’ Managing Director S. Sivaramakrishnan told reporters here.
According to him the company is looking at the entire spectrum of BOP – construction of cooling towers, chimney, ash and coal handling systems and others.
In addition, the company plans to set up solar power plant in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
Meanwhile, the company has bagged Rs.200 crore Goa airport terminal contract from Airports Authority of India (AAI) which is to be completed in 24 months time from this month onwards.
‘The scope of work includes civil construction, plumbing, internal and external electrification, fire detection, fire fighting systems and others,’ he said.
According to him, the company has achieved good progress in the construction of airport terminals at Chennai and Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.
‘Out of the Rs.1,200 crore Chennai airport project, we have completed works worth Rs.380 crore and in Rajahmundry 60 percent of the Rs.68 crore order has been finished,’ he said.
According to him, the company’s order book position is Rs.3,600 crore.
He said group company CCCL Infrastructure is the lowest (L1) bidder for two multi-level car parking project in New Delhi and plans to bid for three road projects.
