New Delhi, June 13 (IANS) Some parts of the capital experienced a dust storm followed by light showers Sunday afternoon, the weatherman said.

‘Some parts of the national capital experienced dust storm and light showers Sunday afternoon. This is a direct result of western disturbances,’ an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

According to the met department, the day time maximum temperature hovered around 44 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 28.1 degrees, one notch below the average.

The dust storm and light rains contradicted the earlier forecast of the IMD which said: ‘The sky will remain clear and there are no chances of rain today (Sunday).’

It had, however, forecast some rainfall in the next few days due to western disturbances. ‘There are chances of thunderstorm and duststorm in the next few days. It may bring some rains Monday or Tuesday,’ IMD said.
