Abu Dhabi, June 19 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates will give humanitarian assistance to refugees who were displaced to Uzbekistan due to the ethnic violence in Kyrgyzstan.

A delegation from the UAE’s Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has left for Uzbekistan to distribute the aid among the affected people.

A quick assessment of the humanitarian conditions on the ground will be made by the RCA team to develop a plan to distribute emergency aid which includes blankets, tents, food and medicine, said Saleh Al-Taei’, secretary general of RCA and head of the delegation to Uzbekistan.

The RCA team will hold meetings with representatives of international aid agencies and the Uzbek Red Crescent to coordinate the emergency humanitarian operation.
