Karachi, June 23 (IANS) Former captain Javed Miandad and his nephew Faisal Iqbal may face action from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for criticising it and the selection committee following the team’s announcement for the England tour.

Miandad, who also holds the position of PCB director general, lashed out the selectors for not including former captain Younis Khan and other players in the side who he believed deserved a place in the team.

Faisal, who has been given the PCB’s B category contract, on the other hand, rued his omission from the national squad, saying he was victimised by the board for being Miandad’s nephew.

A source in the PCB said that the board is reviewing the recent statements by Miandad and Faisal and would decide on action against the duo after assessing them.

‘Since both Miandad and Faisal are employees of the board, they should follow the code of conduct according to their contract which they have violated and may face action’, the source said.

He said after reviewing the statements PCB would send a showcause notice to the duo seeking explanation of their recent outburst against the board.
