Hyderabad, June 27 (IANS) Ten people were killed Sunday when a truck collided with the vehicle in which they were travelling in Andhra Pradesh’s Medak district.

The victims, including five women and a child, were headed to Hyderabad in an SUV when the accident took place near Patancheru in Medak, about 50 km from here. All the victims hailed from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.

In a separate accident, two people were killed in Krishna district when a tractor overturned.

Andhra Pradesh tops in road fatalities in the country. On an average, road accidents claim 35 lives in the state every day.

According to the ministry of road, transport and highways, 13,812 people were killed in road accidents in the state during 2008.
