London, June 28 (IANS) Singer Ne-Yo is set to become a dad as his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw is pregnant with their first child.
‘I am 30 and I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very excited about that. It’s a New Year’s baby and I’m just in a really good place right now,’ he said.
The singer, real name Shafer Smith, admits he recently flew home to Atlanta, Georgia, so he could be with Shaw for her first ultrasound, reports contactmusic.com.
His mother, Loraine Smith, couldn’t contain her excitement and admitted she’s excited about becoming a grandmother.
She said, ‘She’s in her second trimester… We have embraced Monyetta and love her to death.’
