New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday called an emergency meeting to review the situation in Jammu and Kashmir where street protests have left eight people dead in five days.

A senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office said the meeting will be held at 5.30 p.m. at Manmohan Singh’s 7 Race Course residence.

Informed sources said Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Home Secretary G.K. Pillai and senior intelligence officials will attend the meeting.
