Shimla, July 17 (IANS) The hills of Himachal Pradesh may experience heavy rainfall in the next two days, a weather official said here Saturday.

‘The entire state is likely to experience heavy spells of rainfall in the next two days (Sunday and Monday),’ Manmohan Singh, the meteorological department director, told IANS.

He said the monsoon that was undergoing a lull in the region earlier this week, was active again.

He said tourist towns of Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Kalpa, Kasauli, Chamba, Dharamsala, Palampur and Manali may get rains in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Nahan in Sirmaur district Saturday experienced the maximum rainfall of 177.6 mm in the state.

Shimla, situated at an altitude of 2,130 metres, saw just two mild spells of rain.

Dharamsala and Palampur in Kangra district got 54.4 mm and 61.8 mm of rainfall, respectively.
