Chandigarh Aug 4 (IANS) All 12,800 villages in Punjab will get ‘E-gram’ services by December which will enable people to utilise several public services under one roof, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said Wednesday.

The Rs.910 million ‘E-gram’ project will provide 14 public utility services, including issuance of birth and death certificates, domicile certificate, collection of power and water bills, collection of telephone bills and booking of tubewell connections among others.

The ‘E-Gram’ centres will be set up in 3,017 panchayat clusters.

Badal, who reviewed the progress of the project at a meeting here, told officials of concerned departments to speed up the work for its completion by the December deadline.
