Lucknow, Aug 6 (IANS) A government engineer was found dead in his house in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district Friday, police said. His family alleged foul play, alleging he had been threatened recently.
Rajendra Kumar, 48, was posted as an assistant engineer in the irrigation department in Firozabad.
He was living alone in his rented house in Shikohabad area, some 250 km from Lucknow, while his family stayed in Kanpur district.
Police said the exact cause behind his death could be ascertained after the autopsy report.
His family alleged that some people were threatening him over the phone and Kumar told his family that anything could happen to him in the coming days.
‘We have recorded the statements of Kumar’s family members and an enquiry has been initiated into the matter,’ a police official said.
