New Delhi, Aug 18 (IANS) At least 22 personnel of the Indian armed forces have been killed in anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir this year, parliament was informed Wednesday.

Two more were killed in Assam up to July 31, Defence Minister A.K. Antony said in the Rajya Sabha.

Antony informed the house that no casualties in the armed forces were reported from Manipur and Nagaland.

‘Adequate measures are taken to minimise the casualty and loss of defence resources in internal (security) operations. The units and regiments are exposed to comprehensive training in counter terrorist operations and are provided with requisite equipment before being deployed for (such) operations,’ he said.
