New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS) Delhiites woke up to a pleasant Thursday with a slight drizzle in many parts of the city. Heavy rains are also expected in some areas, the weather office said.

‘The sky will be overcast with few spells of rain or thundershower. Heavy rainfall is expected in a few places,’ an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

‘The humidity level is between 82 percent and 92 percent. Rains will continue this month and hence the humidity will remain high,’ he added.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above average, the official said.

The minimum temperature at 26.4 degrees was normal for this time of the year.

The capital has received 4.9 mm of rainfall from 8.30 p.m. Wednesday to 8.30 a.m. Thursday, taking the total this season to 465.1 mm – six percent more than the average for the season.
