New Delhi, Aug 21 (IANS) A 28-year-old man was killed when he was attacked by four men in an apparent case of road rage in the national capital, police said Saturday.

‘The victim identified as Dharamveer, a tempo driver, had accidentally bumped into a car at a busy crossing in Jamia Nagar,’ police said. The incident took place at around 10 p.m. Friday.

According to police, Dharamveer was on his way to a warehouse in Jamia Nagar to deliver consignment of marble slabs.

The car driver, identified only as Mann, and his three friends got out and demanded compensation from Dharamveer.

‘When Mann asked for compensation, Dharamveer told him he was only a driver and had no money. Mann then saw the marble laden tempo and asked for the slabs in return for the damage done to his car,’ said a senior police officer.

Dharamveer stood guard near the tempo’s back door and prevented the accused from taking away the slabs.

‘When Dharamveer resisted, Mann attacked him with a blunt weapon on his forehead. The victim, who was holding the lock on the backdoor with one hand, lost his balance and fell down. The back door opened and the slabs fell on Dharamveer killing him on the spot,’ said the officer.
