New Delhi, Aug 23 (IANS) One person died of swine flu Sunday night while 40 new cases were reported in Delhi, a health official said Monday.

‘One person died at Lok Narayan Jai Prakash Hospital last (Sunday) night,’ nodal officer for swine flu Debashish Bhattacharya told IANS. He said the latest death takes the toll of city residents due to the disease to 21 — 13 in the city and eight elsewhere, while the number of cases have risen to 621.

The common symptoms of swine flu are cold, cough, fever, a sore throat and headache.

‘We suggest to people to not panic. They should maintain proper hand hygiene, carry a hand sanitiser with them. One should see a doctor if the cold is severe,’ Bhattacharya added.

People are advised to use handkerchief before sneezing and avoid going to crowded places. The vaccines are available at some government hospitals and is available with authorised distributors in the city, he said.
