London, Aug 23 (IANS) Hollywood filmmaker Spike Lee has accused US President Barack Obama of an error of judgment for ‘trusting’ bosses at oil giant BP to halt a potential environmental disaster after a rig off the south coast of the US ruptured in April.

Lee has slammed government officials for taking seven weeks to invite the families of 11 platform workers killed in the initial explosion to the White House, reports contactmusic.com.

‘I don’t know why Obama ever trusted these BP guys! They would lie to their mothers. The thing we don’t talk about is that 11 Americans lost their lives and it took seven weeks to invite their families to the White House. I’m not trying to bash my man, but that’s a long time,’ said Lee.
