New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS) Cloudy skies and rains in some parts of the city — that’s what Saturday is likely to see in Delhi, a weather official said.

‘The skies will be partly cloudy and some parts of the capital will experience thunderstorm and rains,’ an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

Delhi recorded a minimum of 26.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average for this time of the season. The humidity was recorded at 92 percent.

According to weather officials, the capital received 17.3 mm of rainfall from Friday morning till 8.30 a.m. Saturday and more rains are expected later during the day.

The maximum temperature Saturday is expected to hover around 35 degrees.

The civic authorities Friday reported 13 waterlogging complaints and five complaints each of wall collapse and trees getting uprooted following rains. There were also reports of two roads caving in in south Delhi.

The city has received 698.6 mm of rainfall so far this monsoon, which is 41 percent above average. In the month of August alone, Delhi has received 455.1 mm of rainfall – almost 100 percent above the average.
