Jammu, Aug 28 (IANS) Three children have died and over 1,000 people have fallen prey to water-borne disease diarrhoea in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, an official here said Saturday.

The official told IANS that the epidemic has hit hard people who have little or no access to clean drinking water because of incessant rains and landslides.

‘Three children died as they were brought in a critical condition and the doctors despite their best efforts could not save their lives,’ the official said, requesting not to be named.

Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma has rushed teams of doctors to handle the situation in Doda, 175 km from Jammu.
