Penza (Russia), May 5 (Inditop) A woman unexpectedly went into labour just before her heart surgery in the Russian city of Penza and gave birth to a healthy girl, a doctor at a hospital here said Tuesday.
The 36-year-old woman “was admitted to the clinic for an urgent operation to replace an artificial heart valve which the patient had been living with for several years,” Vladlen Bazylev said.
Surgeons were preparing to carry out the operation, when the woman went into labour, two and a half months before she was due to give birth.
