New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) The tenure of the chairman of the National Highway Authority of India, Brijeshwar Singh, has been extended by three months, an official release said here Tuesday.
A 1975 Indian Administrative Service officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, Singh was to retire Tuesday.
The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved Singh’s re-employment as NHAI chairman on a contractual basis for a period of three months from Sep 1 this year, the release said.
It, however, added that Singh will have to quit in case a regular appointment is made for the post before the expiry of his extended tenure till Nov 30.
