Toronto, May 8 (Inditop) Embattled Indian-origin MP Ruby Dhalla is among the 50 people on a new list of the “most beautiful” Canadians, which has been topped by country singer Shania Twain.
The list by Hello magazine also includes singer Avril Lavigne, actors Keifer Sutherland and Adam Beach, and actresses Kim Cattrall and Evangeline Lilly.
Hello editors said 43-year-old Shania is one of the most successful recording artists in the world and was thus an obvious choice for the “most beautiful Canadian” title.
“She has an alluring beauty that women warm to and men simply adore,” said Hello editor-in-chief Ciara Hunt.
“Following the shocking news of her marriage break-up, she handled herself with grace and dignity. Shania has proven herself a great woman and for this we applaud her,” she said.
“What was hugely surprising is how many beautiful Canadians there are in the world. We wanted to celebrate individuals who have succeeded here and on the international stage. At one point we had 150 beauties to whittle down to 50. No easy task, but so very exciting,” Hunt added.
Thirty-five-old Dhalla, who is battling allegations of mistreating her nannies, is the only Canadian of South Asian descent in the list.
She has also been rated as Canada’s second sexiest MP and the world’s “third hottest” female politician.
