Moscow, May 10 (Inditop) A natural gas pipeline exploded in southwest Moscow early Sunday, sending flames up to 300 meters in the air, the emergencies ministry said.
At least five people were treated for burns, an official said adding that the fire was visible for many kilometers but no damage was caused to the residential buildings.
Twenty-five firefighting teams had been sent to the site.
The pipeline exploded shortly after the Victory Day celebrations that included a massive fireworks show.
The police said the pipeline could have been damaged intentionally. Bomb experts of the Russian interior ministry and the Federal Security Service would investigate the cause of the explosion.
Officials said it will take two hours to extinguish the fire completely.
