Riyadh, Sep 29 (IANS) Saudi authorities Wednesday said they have arrested 210 drug traffickers, including Indians, in the last three months.

A total of 133 Saudis were among the arrested people, while the other detainees were from India, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, the Philippines, Egypt, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Kuwait and Jordan, an interior ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Approximately 9.3 million amphetamine pills, six tonnes of hashish and 10 kg of heroin were seized. The narcotics were worth about $88 million, Xinhua reported.

During the police operations, launched from June 13 to Sep 10, three policemen and two drug traffickers were killed.

The arrested people could face death penalty if convicted.
