Chennai, May 15 (Inditop) The voting percentage in Tamil Nadu’s Lok Sabha contest has now been put at 72.46, the highest since 1984’s 72.98 percent.

Traditionally, such high polling would give jitters to the ruling party as bulk of the voters would be anti-establishment.

According to T.K.S. Elangovan, DMK’s candidate in North Chennai constituency, the 12 percent increase in polling percentage over the 2004 elections can be attributed to Vijaykant’s DMDK party.

DMDK is expected to eat into AIADMK’s vote share.
