New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) Parliament was adjourned Thursday for the 15th successive day over demands for a parliamentary probe into the 2G spectrum allotment but there was some business amid the din with the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha passing supplementary demands for grants for 2010-11.

While the Lok Sabha passed the Supplementary Demands for Grants (Railways) for 2010-11, the Rajya Sabha returned the Supplementary Demands for Grants (General) for the current fiscal.

When the Lok Sabha met after its first adjournment in the morning, opposition members again raised slogans over their demand for a JPC but Speaker Meira Kumar went ahead with the business for the day.

She asked the papers to be laid on the table of the house and asked Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to move the appropriation bill relating to the Supplementary Demands for Grants (Railways) for 2010-11.

The bills were passed by voice vote amid continuous slogan shouting by the opposition members. The bill authorises payment and appropriation of further sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the financial year 2010-11 for the railways.

The morning was also chaotic with opposition members rushing towards the speaker’s podium as soon as the house began, shouting slogans of ‘We want JPC’. The speaker urged them to return to their seats, but they did not heed, forcing her to adjourn the house.

The Rajya Sabha, too, witnessed similar scenes as the opposition members pressed for their demand for a JPC. The house was adjourned till noon. When it reassembled, it returned the Supplementary Demands for Grants (General) for 2010-11 amid slogan shouting by the opposition members.

The Supplementary Demands for Grants (general) for 2010-11 and the relevant appropriation bills had been passed by the Lok Sabha Tuesday. The house was later adjourned for the day.
