Barsana (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 2 (IANS) A religious leader from the Braj region in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district has announced a march along the Yamuna river from Allahabad to Delhi March 1 next year to mobilise people for cleaning the polluted river.

‘The marchers will walk along the Yamuna’s banks, stop in every town and village on the way to speak to the local people and solicit their support. The march will end at Parliament House in Delhi,’ said Ramesh Baba of Barsana in the Braj region, spread over 80 square km.

He said that his over-15,000 followers from all over the world and other religious leaders would join the march.

‘We are adopting the Gandhian strategy of a march in order to create awareness on the massive concern that is there over the pollution problem,’ Ramesh Baba said.
