Vienna, Dec 31 (DPA) Romanian television star Serban Huidu was in an artificial coma Thursday after a skiing accident in the Tyrolean mountains, Austrian media reported.

Huidu jammed the edge of a ski, fell, and plunged 10 metres into a forest whilst skiing Tuesday, according to a police report.

The 34-year-old sustained severe head injuries and was flown from the Patscherkofel resort to a clinic in Innsbruck.

Doctors put him into an induced coma, Austrian press agency APA reported.

The hospital said he was in stable condition.

Huidu hosts an entertainment show of the private channel Prima TV and has a daily morning radio show.
