New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) A day after meeting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar Friday hosted a lunch for a clutch of non-BJP opposition parties in a renewed effort to break the logjam over the demand for a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the 2G spectrum scam.

Leaders of Communist Party of India-Marxist, Communist Part of India, Janata Dal (United), All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhgam (AIDMK), Telugu Desam Party (TDP) were present at the luncheon meeting at Meira Kumar’s residence.

Meira Kumar had hosted an informal lunch meeting for the leaders of BJP Thursday, but it meeting ended with the main opposition party sticking to its demand for a JPC.

The luncheon meeting Thursday was attended by senior BJP leaders L.K. Advani and Sushma Swaraj, while Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V. Narayanasamy represented the government.
