New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) It was a warm day in the capital Monday as the early morning chill and fog cover gave way to a bright sun. The weather office has predicted warmer days for the rest of the week.
‘The maximum temperature was recorded at 22.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum settled at 8.1 degrees, both normal for this time of the season,’ an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The humidity levels wavered between a high of 95 percent and a low of 44 percent, the official added.
Meanwhile, the thick blanket of fog which had returned to the city after over a fortnight, resulted in the delay of over a dozen domestic and international flights and forced another three to be diverted, an official of the Indira Gandhi International Airport said.
Train services were, however, not affected.
According to the IMD, Tuesday will witness similar weather condition with mist in the morning but clear and bright skies during the day.
‘The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 22 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively,’ added the IMD official.
