New Delhi, March 31 (IANS) A Delhi court Thursday extended the judicial custody of former telecom minister A. Raja and three of his aides by two days till April 2 for their alleged role in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge O.P. Saini passed the order.

Raja, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura, Raja’s former personal secretary R.K. Chandolia and Swan telecom promoter Shahid Usman Balwa appeared before the court through video conferencing.

The CBI was to file the chargesheet against the accused March 31, but asked for two day’s time. The chargesheet will now be filed April 2.

‘The chargesheet will arraign all of them for forgery, conspiracy, cheating and abetment,’ the agency said.

On Tuesday, the CBI told the Supreme Court that it would require two more days to formally file charges in the scam.

Raja was arrested by the CBI along with Behura and Chandolia Feb 2, while Balwa was arrested from Pune Feb 8.

They are accused of selling the spectrum airwaves to select companies for lower than market rates causing a huge loss to the national exchequer.
