Ranchi, June 19 (Inditop.com) Unidentified men Friday looted Rs.33 lakh (Rs.3.3 million) at gun point from a bank in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, police said.

According to police, around half a dozen robbers entered UCO Bank near Malvia Road in Hazaribagh town at 11.30 a.m.

The criminals held hostage the bank officials and looted the money from the cash counter and the currency chest of the bank. Interestingly, the bank is located a stone’s throw away from a police station.

In the past five years, more than 60 bank robberies have taken place in different parts of the state.

In May last year, Maoist rebels hijacked an ICICI delivery van from Ranchi and looted Rs.5 crore (Rs.50 million) in cash and two kg of gold.
