Kolkata, April 30 (IANS) After being left out of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former KKR skipper Sourav Ganguly Saturday watched the team’s match for the first time this season from the president’s box of Eden Gardens here.

‘Yes I am here. That’s it,’ said Ganguly, replying to queries from reporters at the venue for the KKR and Kings XI Punjab match.

Ganguly initially sat in the president’s box and later came down to the lower tier of the club house to watch the game.

After the images of Ganguly flashed on the giant screens on the ground, posters saying ‘we miss you, dada’ and ‘we want you in IPL, Sourav’ appeared in the galleries.

The ‘prince of Kolkata’, as the former India captain is popularly known, was not taken by any team in the auction held for players ahead of this year’s IPL.

This triggered resentment among his fans. Ganguly had led KKR in two of the three previous editions of the IPL.
