London, May 1 (IANS) Television footage from the British royal wedding of Prince William and Kate will be made into a DVD, proceeds from which would go to charity.
The proceeds from DVD and computer download sales in Britain, US, Canada, Australia, France and Germany will go to The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.
Hundreds of injured soldiers, disadvantaged youngsters and the environment would benefit from the sales, the Daily Express reported.
Video highlights from the wedding are now available on iTunes. A full two-hour BBC DVD will be priced at 13.27 pounds.
‘This is tipped to be one of the biggest events in TV broadcasting history, so we have taken this unusual step of releasing it so quickly,’ said a BBC spokesman.
‘The royal wedding is a fantastic keepsake that allows you to relive the magic of the special day again and again.’
