Shimla, May 1 (IANS) Rains in Himachal Pradesh Sunday brought some relief from heat. Most tourist hubs saw spells of showers and more rain is on the way, a weather official said.

‘Shimla and nearby places received moderate rain in the evening after days of dry spell,’ Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.

There are chances of more rain and hailstorms in Shimla, Mandi and Kullu districts in the next 24 hours.

Popular tourist resorts like Kasauli, Manali, Palampur, Dharamsala, Chamba and Dalhousie also experienced mild to moderate rainfall, Manmohan Singh said.

Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16 degrees. The maximum temperature was 26.1 degrees Saturday.

Una town was, however, very hot, recording 40.2 degrees.
