New Delhi, May 1 (IANS) Delhi experienced a hot Sunday with both the minimum and maximum temperatures soaring above average. More hot days are in store, said the met office.
‘Get ready for more scorching days as the temperature is expected to rise as the week progresses. It is just the onset of summer, and the coming weeks will see a heat wave,’ an India Meteorological Department official told IANS.
The maximum temperature Sunday was 40.6 degrees Celsius — three degree above average. The minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees Celsius, which was two notches above average for this time of the season.
The maximum humidity stood at 55 percent.
But April this year was the coolest in the last 10 years. According to the IMD, around this time last year, the temperature had soared to 43.7 degrees Celsius.
