New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) The Congress Monday said that the killing of Osama bin Laden in a Pakistan city underscores India’s long-held position that terrorists have been finding protection on the soil of its western neighbour.
‘Neutralisation of Osama underscores the point India has been making for three decades, that terrorist organisations of various shades have been finding space and protection on the Pakistani soil,’ Congress spokesman Manish Tewari said.
He said it was incorrect to make a distinction between different types of terror.
‘We have been belabouring this point to all interlocutors that terror infrastructure is seamless and it is perhaps not appropriate to make distinction between different kinds of terror,’ he said.
Tewari said that standards of prevention of terror applied in the western borders of Pakistan needed to be applied to its eastern borders as well.
Answering queries, Tewari said fight against terrorism has to be holistic and globally coordinated to bring the guilty to justice.
To questions on Pakistan’s stance towards persons accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Tewari said India has already conveyed that strong action should be taken against them.
