Abu Dhabi, May 2 (IANS/WAM) Abu Dhabi International Airport is all set to handle an increased number of flights this summer, thanks to Etihad Airways’ expansion of operations.

The expansion of Etihad Airways, the UAE’s flag carrier, is a significant contributor to the growth, with its launch of flights to Seoul and Bangalore during last winter, as well as additional flights to its other destinations, the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has said.

ADAC has released the summer flight schedule from Abu Dhabi International Airport that introduces new destinations, frequency increases, and new airlines.

According to the schedule, there is a 12.8 per cent increase in the total number of flights to and from the UAE capital during this summer (April-October) as compared to the same season last year.

As per the summer 2011 Timetable, airlines at Abu Dhabi International Airport will be operating over 900 weekly scheduled flights, connecting the emirate’s airport to over 80 international destinations in more than 45 countries.
