New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) In yet another such case, a maid was arrested here Monday for kidnapping the three-year-old son of her employer, police said.
Rizwana Khattun was arrested and the kidnapped child recovered near Adarsh Nagar Metro Station in north Delhi.
Khattun was hired last month by a businessman Farid Khan, living in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar in north Delhi. Her police verification was not done.
‘She took Khan’s three-year-old son on Sunday on the pretext of buying him ice-cream, but didn’t return,’ Deputy Commissioner of Police Meenu Choudhary said.
During investigation, it was found that Khattun had used her employer’s mobile phone without his knowledge several times a few days ago.
‘We have collected the call records and are analysing it,’ Choudhary said.
‘It appears the maid hatched the kidnapping plan for ransom, but she was caught well before she could materialise it,’ she added.
Last week, an 18-month-old toddler was rescued here from the clutches of his abductors, which included the family maid, who too was hired without police verification.
