Mumbai, May 2 (IANS) Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil said Monday the elimination of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan has proved that the roots of the November 26, 2008, Mumbai terror attacks are also in the neighbouring country.
Patil’s is the first official reaction from the state government so far on the killing of Osama bin Laden in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad by US Special Forces.
‘The Mumbai police have already investigated the 26/11 terror attacks. The roots are in Pakistan and its Inter Service Intelligence (ISI). Osama’s killing has also proved the terror links with Pakistan,’ Patil told reporters.
On potential threats to the US consulate and other establishments in Mumbai in the wake of Osama’s killing, Patil asserted these were well secured and there was no additional security provided to them.
