Coimbatore, June 22 (Inditop.com) Pramod Joshua of TVS Racing, astride TVS Apache RTR, was declared the overall winner of the MAK Rally of Coimbatore, the first round of the Indian National Rally Championship for two-wheelers.

Joshua led a TVS sweep as he clocked the fastest timings in all the six stages and won the 115 Kms rally with a total penalty of 01:22:49 here Saturday.

His team-mate Aravind KP (TVS Apache RTR) was second in 01:24:25, followed by Natraj R (TVS Apache RTR) in 01:26:24.

Joshua said: “I am very happy that I had won the first rally of the year. The terrain was excellent and the event ran like clockwork. I must say that I had excellent grip from stage 1. I am really happy and look forward to the next event in Bangalore.”

In the unmodified class (Group D, four stroke up to 130 cc), Venu Ramesh Kumar (Yamaha YBX) won with a total penalty of 01:38:53, followed by another Yamaha YBX rider SS Varun (01:51:03).

In the modified class (Group B, four strokes up to 130 cc) Sunil Kumar P (Yamaha YBX) took the honours ahead of Sachin Singh (TVS Victor Edge).

The Rally of Coimbatore, sponsored by MAK Lubricants from Bharat Petroleum and promoted by IMG Sports and Pro Sports Promotion, attracted 27 riders among whom 24 finished.
