Chandigarh, May 29 (IANS) Seeking to upgrade the aviation infrastructure in Haryana, the state government Sunday announced that two integrated helicopter hubs and three general aviation hubs would be set up in the state in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
A government spokesman Sunday said that the two integrated helicopter hubs are planned at Pinjore and Narnaul to provide aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as fixed base operations, specifically catering to helicopters.
‘The general aviation hubs are proposed at Hisar, Bhiwani and Karnal to provide aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as fixed base operations facility specifically catering to light and medium fixed-wing aircrafts and helicopters,’ the spokesman said.
The state government has invited private partners through international bidding to set up the proposed facilities, he added.
‘The salient features of these hubs include strategic location and connectivity to nearby areas of economic and aviation activities. The state government will provide airfield security. The concession period will be 25 years,’ he said.
At present Haryana has flying clubs and aerodromes at Puinjore, Karnal, Hisar and Narnaul.
