New Delhi, May 29 (IANS) The weekend concluded on a hot note for Delhiites as the maximum temperature Sunday crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark. The met office has predicted hotter days ahead.
‘The maximum temperature settled at 40.9 degrees Celsius, a notch above average, and the minimum was 28.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above average,’ said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The humidity hovered between a maximum of 63 percent and a minimum of 30 percent.
The IMD said that Monday would be a sunny and hot day with the skies remaining partly cloudy and no possibility of rain.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 41 and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively, the official said.
The met office has forecast showers in the city around Wednesday.
